Connecting your email and calendar

Connecting your mailbox is what lets Cedent do its core work — read incoming email to file and organize it, and send the replies you approve from your own address. Connecting your calendar keeps your Cedent deadlines visible in the calendar you already live in.

In Settings → Email Integration, connect your Microsoft 365 mailbox. The connection lets Cedent:

  • Read incoming email so it can file messages to the right matter and surface what needs your attention.
  • Send the replies you approve from your own mailbox, so they land in your Sent folder like any other message.

The page shows your connection status. If it ever needs renewing — sessions expire over time — it will say Reconnect, and a quick reconnect restores it. You can Disconnect at any time.

In Settings → Calendar Sync, connect your calendar to keep Cedent’s events in sync. Today Cedent can push its events to your Outlook calendar so your hearings and deadlines show up alongside everything else. You choose:

  • Which event types sync — deadlines, hearings, meetings, tasks, custom events.
  • Show as busy — sync only your availability, without matter details or titles, to keep client information off a shared calendar.

Two-way sync and Google Calendar are on the way.

Which email providers can I connect? Microsoft 365 today. If you are not sure how your firm’s mail is set up, the Cedent team can help during onboarding.

Will my synced calendar show client details to people I share my calendar with? Only if you want it to. Turn on Show as busy and synced events show your availability without titles or matter details.
