Reminders — what you get and when
Cedent sets reminders on your calendar events so a date never sneaks up on you. Reminders are created for you automatically, and you can tune them to suit how much lead time you want.
Reminders are set automatically
Section titled “Reminders are set automatically”When an event lands on your calendar, Cedent sets a sensible set of reminders based on what kind of event it is:
- Deadlines get reminders well ahead and then closing in — roughly ten, five, two, and one day out.
- Hearings, which usually need more preparation, get earlier reminders — roughly two weeks, one week, a few days, and the day before.
You do not have to set any of this up; it comes with the event.
Adjusting reminders
Section titled “Adjusting reminders”When you create or open an event, you can turn the preset reminders on or off and add your own — say a reminder twenty days ahead for something you want long runway on. Remove any you do not want.
How reminders reach you
Section titled “How reminders reach you”Reminders appear in the app as their time comes due. Deadlines also surface in your daily brief, and for hearings you can receive an optional night-before prep packet by email — both set in Settings → Notifications.
You can dismiss a reminder once you have acted on it. Marking the event itself complete — or dismissing it — clears its remaining reminders automatically, so you are not nudged about something already handled.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Will I get an email for every reminder? Calendar reminders show in the app. Your daily brief and the optional hearing prep packet come by email; you control those in Settings → Notifications.
Can I get more lead time on a particular deadline? Yes. Open the event and add a custom reminder as far ahead as you want, alongside or instead of the presets.
